[The Call] Visit to the Joint Committee on Taxation, 10/23

Posted on 10/16/25: Thursday morning, Oct 23, at 10am. We are being hosted at the Joint Committee on Taxation  by Chief of Staff Tom Barthold and others for an inside look at the role of this committee, a day in the life, and even insights on continuing through the shutdown. 

Though this should be of particular interest to students studying gov or econ, all are welcome! Please RSVP here  by 5pm Friday, Oct 17. The visit will last one hour, so at 11am all can disperse or return to 111 Mass together.

The JCT is located in the Ford House Office Building, a 25 minute walk from 111 Mass. We will meet at 111 Mass at 9:15am to walk there together. If you need to meet us at the Ford Building instead at 9:45, you may do that but we just want to know ahead of time (there is a brief security check, so we need to arrive a little early).

We’re especially excited and grateful that this event will still happen despite the ongoing shutdown. Please consider joining in!
