About: The U.S. International Trade Commission is an independent, nonpartisan, quasi-judicial federal agency established by Congress with a range of trade-related mandates. The Commission adjudicates import injury and intellectual property right investigations. In addition, the Commission provides independent, objective, and timely analysis of trade and competitiveness issues to the President, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), and Congress; and maintains the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
Duties: As an Economist Student Trainee, you will perform a wide variety of analytical duties associated with Office of Economics work. You will conduct literature reviews and other targeted research on international trade issues and topics, including summarizing findings through written products. Your technical competencies will advance through the performance of the collection, compilation, and cleaning of data from secondary sources (e.g. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and OECD).
