Announcing the Hoover Institution Summer Policy Boot Camp
 August 11-16, 2024
We are contacting you because students in your department may have an interest in public policy and the Hoover Institution Summer Policy Boot Camp (HISPBC) program. Now in its eighth year, the boot camp program covers the essential issues of today’s national and international public policy landscape, providing instruction to college students, recent graduates, and young professionals.

HISPBC is known for its robust program on topics that are relevant to today’s policy challenges. Students focus on developing and applying critical reasoning skills to public policy formation. They also have a unique opportunity to interact with the faculty of Stanford University’s Hoover Institution (new window), which comprises scholars in economics, government, political science, and related fields.
This four-day public policy boot camp will take place August 11-16, 2024, on Stanford University’s campus. The program is free of charge to accepted participants (including lodging and meals). Attendees will be responsible for travel costs and incidentals.
January 18, 2024: Early Bird Registration & Early Bird Letters of Recommendations Due (no fee)
March 5, 2024: Regular Registration & Letters of Recommendations Due ($100 application fee)

If you believe the HISPBC program (new window) would be of interest to your students, please forward this information to them directly or via a department email list. If we should be in touch with anyone else in your department, please forward this message or let us know whom we should contact.
The final deadline for application to the HISPBC is Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
We appreciate your time in forwarding this email to students who may be interested in applying to the program. For more information, please reply to this message or visit our website here (new window).

Hoover Institution“I truly appreciated my time throughout this program. It has given me a chance to explore topics I have interest in and hear new ideas of topics I was not too aware of before. I also learned a lot of facts and perspectives that I will be able to take back home with me and use in discussions in the future. I only wish we had gotten the chance to stay longer and hear from more experts.”
