Figge Fellowship Opportunity for Undergraduates

[Posted on 9/2/2026] My name is Sophia Tremblay, and I, along with Emma Zhu (CCed here), am serving as a Student Coordinator for the Figge Fellowship this academic year. 

Administered by the Catholic Studies Program under the direction of Prof. Vanessa Corcoran and Prof. Kim Daniels, our fellowship (which you can read more about here) enables students to pursue original research that bridges a wide range of fields, from history and literature to science and sociology. The Figge Fellowship is unique in its emphasis on theological inquiry and reflection, as student fellows are regularly invited to cohort meetings and events, such as program-sponsored group dinners around Georgetown and a contemplative retreat during the spring semester. The Fellowship is also a 1-credit course in the spring semester. Further, in an effort to provide all Hoyas with the opportunity to conduct their own research, we offer a stipend of $1,000 upon successful completion of the fellowship.

In an effort to build a diverse cohort with an array of backgrounds and interests, we are kindly requesting your assistance in sharing the Figge Fellowship research opportunity with relevant undergraduates. Attached to this email, you will find a .pdf of our flyer as well as a link to our Google Form application. Whether you decide to share our information with a few students whom you think would be a good fit, send an email blast to your classes, or display a flyer in your office—we are happy to print and provide this—we would be incredibly grateful.
