Posted in Undergrad Opportunities

Economics students who are interested in the Fund internship program (FIP) as well as the Research Assistant Program (RAP) are invited to sign up for an in-person presentation at the IMF on Monday, October 23, 2023. Interested students should send their full name, e-mail and CV to Dildora Rakhmatulleaeva at DRakhmatullaeva@imf.org . More details can be found below. Please note that while the original deadline for RSVP has passed, interested students are still encouraged to submit their information ASAP.

It’s that time of year for the IMF’s Economist Program recruitment outreach to Universities. As part of our recruitment outreach we are planning on inviting local Universities to IMF headquarters for in-person presentations and are keen in collaborating with you on this engagement.

The recruitment drive for the 2024 Economist Program (EP) is already underway, and we would like to schedule an in-person presentation for your students on Monday, October 23, 2023,  at 2:30 pm for an hour and a half at the IMF. There will be an IMF team comprised of the EP team, a senior Economist and a former EP to provide information about the program, work of the Fund and this year’s recruitment process, allowing for a Q&A session to ask us any questions they may have. The format will be a brief introduction of our team, followed by the presentation, and preliminary interviews (for those that meet the EP eligibility criteria).

Economist Program Eligibility Criteria:

–             A recent PhD graduate or be within one year of completing a PhD in a relevant field of study

–             A national of one of our IMF member countries

–             Under age 34 when joining the IMF EP program

In planning for this event, if you could kindly respond by September 15, 2023, with a list of current PhD students who consider joining the IMF and meet the EP criteria. Please include their full name and email address in the table and indicate those that are job market candidates attaching a copy of their CV. We are also very keen to hear from candidates with interest in macro-climate related policy work and/or research, who would be interested in joining teams contributing to the implementation of the Fund’s policy work related to climate change and its integration into macroeconomic frameworks.

This outreach event can also be extended to students interested in the Fund internship program (FIP) and undergraduate economics students who may be interested in the Research Assistant Program (RAP). We look forward to hearing from you and meeting your students. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
