Department Graduate Fellowship

Statement of Purpose

The Department of Economics at Georgetown University is committed to the training of future faculty, researchers and leaders with diverse perspectives, backgrounds and ideas who will enrich critical thinking, generate new areas of inquiry, and advance economic knowledge.

The objective of the fellowship is to foster a diverse and inclusive culture in which all of our graduate students have equal opportunities to thrive in their academic and personal endeavors.

The fellowship will be awarded to talented students who might otherwise find it difficult to successfully pursue a doctoral degree and whose individual life experiences, when evaluated holistically, suggests they are uniquely able to contribute to the diversity of perspectives and ideas at the department and in the academic profession as a whole.
