2008 Placement Update: Georgetown continues its impeccable placement record. All of our job market candidates received at least one academic offer this year. The academic offers included, Stanford, Maryland, Notre Dame, U. of Richmond, Williams College, Illinois State, Rutgers U. Newark, ITAM, Dubai School of Government, and Ajou University (Korea). Public sector offers included the United States International Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Government Accountability Office, Economic Research Service, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Private sector offers included NERA, Bates White, Brattle Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, and Watson Wyatt.

The recent placement and publication records of our former students reflect the strength of our program and the overall quality of our students. Recent placements include Stanford University, University of British Columbia, Warwick, U. of London, U. of Tokyo, and many other highly rated universities and research institutions world wide. The research of our former students has made its way into many top economics journals such as Journal of Economic Theory, International Economic Review, Journal of Labor Economics, and Journal of Monetary Economics. We are proud of our students' hard work and accomplishments. Our PhD program is and will remain the hub of intellectual activity and advancement here at Georgetown.
